Raymond Smith, founder of MyHomeEngineer.com, is a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer. With almost 40 years of experience in structural, industrial, mechanical and electrical engineering, Smith has inspected more than 15,000 residential and commercial buildings in the state of Texas. He offers solid answers to some of the toughest questions and a wealth of information on construction and maintenance. He will show you how to repair, maintain, build, etc. your property and save a lot of money!  

Since July 1985 Smith has been an independent commercial residential real estate inspector. Before becoming a consultant, Smith spent 6 years as the Director of Physical Plant at the University of Texas, Dallas and 6 years as Senior Construction Inspector at the University of Texas, Austin. Smith started his career with the NavyCivil Engineer Corps (Seabees), and is a retired Navy Civil Engineer Corps Commander.
